Gentle, attachment-focused, and responsive sleep solutions for your whole family

Transform Your Family's Sleep with a Holistic and Nurturing Approach

Ever feel like you’ve tried every sleep routine, calming technique, or sleep environment tweak – yet restful sleep is still out of reach for your sensitive little one?

If you’re feeling worn down by bedtime battles or anxious about sleep struggles, you’re not alone. The traditional one-size-fits-all methods often fall short for families who are highly sensitive, struggle with anxiety, or are neurodivergent.

If you’re looking for a gentle, attachment-focused, responsive, evidence-based approach that truly honours your baby’s, toddler’s, or older child’s unique needs, I’m here for you. As a certified holistic family sleep and wellbeing specialist, I work 1:1 with families like yours, using compassionate sleep support that considers your child’s temperament, sensory sensitivities, and nervous system regulation.

Together, we’ll create a tailored, safe path to sleep – one that works in harmony with your whole family’s needs and brings peaceful nights within reach.

Parent testimonial

‘We first came to Kara because we needed help transitioning a co-sleeping toddler who woke often into his own room and help with night-weaning. We had been trying on our own for months and sleep seemed to be getting worse not better! A few months later and he now is completely weaned, sleeps in his own room and more often than not, sleeps through the night!

What I loved about Kara’s approach was that it was gentle with no harsh ‘cry-it-out’ methods. She took time to get to know us as parents and our child’s personality and habits to tailor suggestions and plans to our circumstances and parenting-style.

I could not recommend Kara or her services highly enough- so happy we found her!’

Hi, I’m Kara

As a trauma-informed, neurodivergent practitioner and a mother of two highly sensitive children (one of whom will soon be assessed for ADHD), I know firsthand the challenges families face. I specialise in supporting both parents and children who are neurodivergent, and/or struggle with anxiety or sensory sensitivities.

With a background in psychology and over 25 years of professional experience supporting children and families, I bring a trauma-informed, empathetic, and evidence-based approach to every family I work with.

My mission is to help families find sleep solutions that feel right, without resorting to traditional sleep training methods. I believe each child has unique needs, and my superpower is screening for underlying issues – identifying and addressing what might be preventing biologically normal sleep.

I offer a safe space where parents can gain tools to support their child’s sleep, while addressing the nervous system, fostering co-regulation, and creating a foundation for healthy sleep – all while honouring their instincts and protecting their mental wellbeing.

You’re already doing all the beautiful things to support your child’s sleep, but they’re still waking frequently or having trouble falling asleep. You’re nurturing them to sleep with a feed or a cuddle, you’re bedsharing, you have a soothing bedtime routine, and nothing seems to help…

I’m sorry it’s been so hard. If your nights are feeling long and challenging, it might be time to look deeper.

Sleep disruptions can stem from various causes – big changes in the family (such as moving house, a new sibling, or starting childcare), developmental milestones, teething, or illness. But they can also stem from dietary intolerances or deficiencies, sleep pressure imbalances, gut health issues, or a dysregulated nervous system.

Understanding the ‘why’ behind the wake-ups can guide us to gentle and effective solutions. Getting to the underlying causes is my superpower via my comprehensive holistic assessment! Together, we'll uncover the reasons and find your path to better sleep while staying close and connected.
