From overwhelmed to organised: Practical and personalised in-home support for neurodivergent families

New in-home service

Are you a neurodivergent parent, or part of a family navigating life’s challenges with neurodivergence? Whether it’s life admin, tackling clutter, planning meals, or establishing sustainable routines for yourself or your children, I’m here to offer compassionate, judgement-free guidance tailored to your unique needs.

My holistic consulting service is designed to simplify and enrich your daily life. Through practical, personalised coaching and support, I’ll guide you from feeling stuck and disorganised to confident and in control.

With Neurokind Family Support, you’ll gain the tools, strategies, and confidence to transform your home and daily life—step by step, at your pace. As a parent with AuDHD, I understand firsthand the hurdles that come with managing a busy home, juggling responsibilities, and finding routines that actually work.

(Specific northern suburbs of Melbourne only)

How I can help you

  • Practical coaching: Learn life skills like tidying, decluttering, cleaning, or meal planning, tailored to your needs.

  • Family-centered routines: Establish flexible systems for daily living, including sleep, exercise, and self-care.

  • NDIS navigation: Make the most of your funding with support to implement and manage your plan effectively.

  • Sleep support: Address family sleep challenges with a gentle, holistic approach.

  • Parenting strategies: Develop neurodivergence-friendly approaches to parenting and managing sensory or emotional needs.

  • Household organisation: Tidying, decluttering, and organisational systems tailored for neurodivergence. I can do this either autonomously or body double with you. (Please note that I don’t offer a cleaning service, but can certainly help you find one).

  • Emotional wellbeing: Support with stress management and self-regulation.

  • Tailored for neurodivergence: As a neurodivergent parent and professional, I deeply understand the challenges and strengths unique to families like yours.

  • Hands-on and actionable: This isn’t just theory with unrealistic goals—this is about creating real change in your home and life that works for you and is sustainable.

  • Compassionate and judgment-free: We work together to identify what works for you, without pressure or perfection.

  • Hybrid support: Virtual and in-home support available. In-home support is for families within the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne.

Whether you’re looking for practical solutions or a plan to manage the chaos, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way. Together, we’ll create a space where you and your family can thrive.

Why choose this service?

What are my qualifications and experience?

Hi, I’m Kara. I bring both professional expertise and personal insight to Neurokind Family Support. With over 25 years of experience working with families, I have worn many hats: certified family sleep and wellbeing practitioner, career nanny of 20 years, NDIS mental health support worker, and experienced parenting writer and editor.

Throughout the years, I’ve developed practical systems (and lots of hacks!) for organisation and sustainable routines tailored to each family’s unique needs and lifestyle. My approach is realistic, flexible, and deeply personalised.

I hold a degree in psychology and am currently studying a Master of Counselling to deepen my understanding of neurodivergence, child development, and family dynamics. As someone with AuDHD and a parent to highly sensitive, neurodivergent children, I combine my lived experience with professional training to offer compassionate, judgment-free support that truly works for your family.

I know how valuable it is to have someone by your side who gets it—and that’s why I created Neurokind Family Support.

  • I can assist with life admin, meal planning, home organisation, sleep support, creating family routines, managing stress, and offering practical coaching tailored to neurodivergent families.

  • While I don’t provide cleaning services, I can help you create systems for organising, decluttering, and setting up routines that make maintaining a tidy home easier. I can also help you find a reliable cleaning service if needed.

  • While I have loved working directly with children over the past 25 years, my focus for 2025 and beyond will shift to supporting parents and households.
